March 2007 This month sees the twenty first anniversary of the founding of The Fabric Shop. Over the past two decades many soft furnishing businesses have come and gone in this area but The Fabric Shop continues to go from strength to strength. This success can be attributed to two things - firstly, The Fabric Shop is the epitome of a family business as the entire operation is run by members of the same family all with the same high levels of enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the wide range of soft furnishing products at The Fabric Shop. Secondly, the company concentrates on providing the highest levels of added value for its customers. Senior partner June Browne started the business twenty one years ago taking fabric samples out to customers' homes in her colourful van. The success of the business enabled husband David to go into partnership with June and over the twenty one years daughter Judith, son-in-law David, June's sister Wendy and niece Larah have all come on board to create the hugely successful business that it is today. It's certainly worth a visit to The Fabric Shop to see how your home can be transformed into the perfect living space. |

January 2006 Our new recruit! Being a small family business you can imagine how excited we all are that our daughter Judith and son in law David are expecting their first baby in March. Obviously as they count for 50% of the company our installations in March may be subject to some disruption. However, we will of course try and keep the disruption to a minimum but I'm sure you will understand that our diary during that period may be subject to change at short notice! |

April 2005 We are absolutely delighted with our new window displays showing the very latest collections from our fabric companies. Our Wilman window with its pink and taupe colour scheme has the latest from Poeme...modern, fresh, bold and vibrant. A contrast of soft romantic florals and strong linea influences in a diverse and stylish colour palette. Our Romo window featuring the duckegg and chocolate colours is from the Simonii collection. This is an imaginative collection of vividly patterned prints featuring stylised florals, trailing leaves and a lively stripe on textured cotton-linen with a soft glazed finish. The colours we have chosen introduces a mood of calm and tranquility with blossoming florals and exuberant leaves in gloriously rich chocolate brown and soothing mineral. Our Sanderson window shows the striking combination of red and black from Options. This collection of contemporary design styles and colour pallettes is presented with imaginative, inspirational and practical interior schemes. And finally, our lime and blue combination is from Villa Nova's Paradis collection. This stunning display of vibrant blues and greens shows how well different textures, colours, stripes and florals can all work together. |

January 2005 We are delighted to have our daughter Judith join us in the business. After 5 years in Marketing Communications with NCR and following her marriage to David she decided the time was right to join us as our business expands. Our Son-in-Law and Installations Manager David has been working with us for 2 years now so we are an entirely family business! (And of course Lucy the dog can be found most days with us in the shop!) Judith's main role is developing our business and marketing so she is responsible for all the communications you see from us, our advertising and our websites and of course ensuring we continually provide exceptional customer service and products at all times. She looks forward to welcoming you to the shop soon. |
